Elaboration of an illustration from German newspaper in 1884 reporting on the Congo Conference in Berlin, where European powers decided the rules of the Scramble for Africa.
In my interpretation I add the portraits of African leaders of several historical states and empires, underlining how the fate of a continent was determined without asking the people affected by those decision.

ACC Adinkra 1 and 2

Collage and graphic elaboration which combine the buildings presently situated on the location of the Congo Conference, the Building where the Conference took place, Palais Radziwill, the German Foreign Office of Chancellor Bismarck at the time of the Congo Conference, and Adinkra symbols from the Akan people of Ghana, visual symbols that represent concepts or aphorisms.
